Battlefield 1942 Flying

My perspective on flying in Battlefield 1942. Most players play Battlefield 1942, the first-person shooter. A decent “e-pilot” plays a real-time strategy but our “units” are processing information logically (some more than others)

Can you recommend a PC game?

My computer:
-AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual-Core processor TK-57 (1.9 GHz, 2 x 256 KB L2 cache)
-2.75GB of memory (RAM)
-Up to 751MB NVIDIA GeForce 7000M (nForce 610M)
-A lot of free hard drive space, so no worries there.

It needs to be a game that I can play online and that still has a decent online community (my standards for ‘decent’ are pretty low as I used to play AoM online when there was only an average of slightly less than 400 people online). In case it matters, I download all my games via torrents.

As for genre, I’m pretty flexible. The only genres I don’t like are sport games/racing games. Preferably it should be a game with a post-WW2 setting, but that doesn’t really matter. Some of my favorite games all-time (PC and console) have been: Age of Mythology (Real-time strategy), Tom Clancy’s Endwar (Real-time tactics), SimCity 4 (City-building), Spore (God game), Battlefield 1942 (First-person shooter), Killzone 2 (First-person shooter), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (First-person shooter), Grand Theft Auto IV (Sandbox), Company of Heroes (Real-time strategy).

I already have ‘Battlefield: Bad Company 2′ on the PS3 so I won’t try to get it for PC.

Thanks in advance!
I mentioned Spore amongst some of my all-time favorite games, however I must say that I only liked it for a short while. It was a big disapointment compared to what it should have been (it was actually kinda childish) and it was very glitchy and even though I legally bought the game, I had problems with all the anti-piracy stuff.

I am looking for some good games and movies to play/watch?

I am into games like WoW / GMOD / Rise of Nations / Command & Conquer / Battlefield 1942 / Anno 1404

I am also looking for some good films, anything between Lost – Saving Private Ryan – Saw – Dawn of the dead – Shooter –

I would put the films and games into Action/Adventure/Strategy/Horror/Thriller and such.

My PC is quite old, and not got EPIC specs but, anything made between 1995-2010 should be alright, please can you link or suggest more than 1-2 games/movies as im looking for quite alot, cheers(:

XBox 360 Game Recommendations?

Here’s my situation – I’m fresh out of college and recently picked out an apartment, which I’ll be moving into in a few weeks. One of the incentives was our choice of a Wii or an XBox 360, and I opted for the 360 because it seems to have more games.

However, I’m no more than a casual gamer, and I’m a little lost as to which games I should get for it. The only console I’ve ever owned was an N64 I got for Christmas when I was 10, and since then it’s been mostly computer games.

I don’t plan on making this a big hobby, but since I’m getting the console for free I figure it would be nice to have a few games to kick back with sometimes after work. I’d like to start out with maybe 3 or 4 and slowly add more as time goes on.

Here’s some of what I’ve liked and not liked as much in the past:
-Sports games, namely hockey, baseball, college football, and golf.
-Racing games, both of the strictly racing variety and also games like Burnout.
-The music games aren’t bad, especially with other people, but I don’t really want to spend $200+ to get a decent setup of my own.
-The Battlefield 1942 series for PC was a favorite of mine, so I don’t think I’d mind having a war game or two. I also have a warplane game for N64 that I liked playing.
-There’s nothing really wrong with FPS games, but with a few exceptions (like BF42), they don’t do much for me.
-Most of the computer games I’ve played in recent years have been of the strategy/simulation variety, e.g. Flight Simulator, the Sims, SimCity, C&C Red Alert 2, and so on. I guess I like games that make me think.

Any recommendations based on the above (particularly which series of sports games are considered better than others) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Best Buy gift card…?

What would you guys recommend for a 15-year-old guy? im a big fan of RPGs (WoW is my fave), and first-person-shooters (i have TF2). real-time-strategy games are fun too (warcraft 3), but are not my main choice. i have a $60 gift card to use, and im having a tough time deciding what to get

some ideas:

~$20 — Unreal Tournament 3 (PC); its somewhat old, but i’ve played the older versions before and i liked them.

~$50 — Mario Kart (with Steering Wheel) (Wii); im a fan of previous Mario Karts, and the steering wheel would make it even more fun i’d think

~$50 — Spore (PC); i’ve heard alot of hype about this game… but i dont know much about it

~$40 — World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King (expansion) (PC); pre-order. its coming out nov. 3rd, but my parents may buy it for me

~$30 — Gears of War (PC); i’ve played the 360 version on my friends xbox. very fun game, but im not sure how good for solo play

~$20(?) — Rainbow Six: Vegas (PC); my friend plays this game and says its way fun. i’d mainly be playing to hang out with him (lives across the country from me). fan of day of defeat and battlefield 1942/2142… not sure on how well rainbox six is, as i’ve never played one before

~$40(?) — Crysis (PC); other friend plays this one. claims graphics are insane and the game is way fun

OTHER SUGGESTIONS WELCOME! these are just some i looked up in a few minutes. thanks in advance!

Games that are worth it?

What PC game can I buy that is really worth it? I’m quite bored with my games already. I prefer strategy, but if you have some really good role playing games, why not? I just want ideas. Thanks!

Btw, I have C&C Generals series, Rise of Nations, Age of Empires series, Heroes of Might and Magic series, Red Alert series, DoTA, Warcraft, Starcraft, Solar Empire, Civilization IV, CounterStrike 1.6, and Battlefield 1942 series, Vietnam.
I’m really not quite a fan of online games, but…
